KANSAS CITY, MO --(Marketwired - March 21, 2016) - American Century Investments announced the addition of Vice President and Portfolio Manager Abdelak Adjriou to the teams managing its Global Fixed Income (Global Bond Fund) and Non-U.S. Fixed Income (International Bond Fund) strategies. Formerly with HSBC Global Asset Management, Adjriou joins American Century's fixed income rates and currency markets team, where he provides local rates expertise in both developed and emerging markets. Adjriou joined the firm on March 14.
"With the hiring of Abdelak, an experienced local rates portfolio manager, we continue the multi-year expansion of our global fixed income capabilities," said John Lovito, co-lead of American Century's rates and currency markets team and a senior vice president and senior portfolio manager. "In the past two years alone, we've added four emerging markets debt investment professionals, averaging 14 years of industry experience. Abdelak's skills are a strong complement to those across the broader global fixed income team."
Adjriou joins American Century from HSBC, where he's served in various investment management capacities since 2004. For the past three years, he's been a fixed income portfolio manager responsible for local rates emerging market funds and mandates. From 2006 through 2013, he managed global and European fixed income mandates and an absolute return government bond fund. Prior to that, he was a quantitative analyst, where he developed risk management tools and priced and managed rates, credit and volatility risks for multiple fixed income and derivative securities.
Earlier in his career, Adjriou was a fixed income trader with Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank (formerly Calyon). He holds master's degrees in stochastic calculus from Jussieu Paris VII and computer science from ESSI (ENSI Group).
